  • 01. Ingredient order matters.

    Ingredients are listed by weight, highest first. If sugar is second, it's the second most used thing in that product.

  • 02. "Natural flavour" is a legal loophole.

    It can mean a synthetic compound derived from a natural source. One phrase. Infinite room to hide. Most flavoured snacks in India use it freely.

  • 03. Oil type matters more than fat quantity.

    A snack can be "low fat" and still be fried in palm oil. The quantity isn't the problem. What it's made with is. Read the oil, not just the number.

  • 04. "No added sugar" doesn't mean no sugar.

    Dates, fruit concentrates, and natural sweeteners all count. They're not bad — but they're still sugar. Honest labels tell you what it is, not just what was skipped.
